We all have those moments when groan while waiting for a website to open that you just clicked on - 2 minutes ago. Is it my internet? Or, is it my computer? It could even be your browser! CloudMosa offers s solution to that. By loading webpages on their server and transmitting them to you, Puffin Browser offers a almost instant page loading speed. However, this speed does come with some adobe flash issues. Find out more!
Android/IOS vs. PC
Puffin Browser is available on both mobile and PC. Keep in mind that the PC version is still in beta so it does have more issues. Both versions use CloudMosa's servers to load webpages. Furthermore, their UI's are pretty similar. The only main difference would be that on PC, the flash function is quite glitchy and doesn't load well. On mobile, it works better, and having flash on your phone is an extra.
Speed
Compared to other browser, the speed google loads is about the same as other browsers. However, when loading pages like CNN, or Android Central, the speed is noticeably present. From Phonearena.com
When benchmarked, Puffin Browser does prove to be faster than other browser. Another plus is that since the browser uses its servers to load pages, low spec computers can load pages the same speed as high end computers. Also, with puffin browser, RAM doesn't become an issue. No matter how much RAM your page takes up, the browser will always use the same amount of RAM.
Security
As with sending any of your info to a server, there are security issues. The data is encrypted, so you can use the browser on open networks. However, although the browser does say it doesn't track you, the Privacy Policy suggest differently. From the Privacy Policy:
We log activities like the standard web logs, including the information in the TCP layer (e.g., source IP, source port, destination IP, destination port) and in the HTTP layer (e.g., URL, HTTP headers). The logs are purged from the worker-bee servers once collected by the log servers. Log servers analyze the logs and generate reports. Afterwards, the logs are purged. The reports have aggregated statistical data, which is insufficient to be cross-referenced to identify any individual user.
For Puffin users, the app already provides 24/7 Flash support and has no In-App-Purchase items. There is no user account.
Furthermore, our system is state-less, i.e., once you quit the Apps and leave the Services, it is as clean as you were never there. In practice, there are ways to link your activities together by cross-referencing the logs. Nevertheless, there is no way to link back to your identity such as name, address or phone number.
Logs are used for trouble-shooting and self-defense. Reports are used for business intelligence. However, excessive amount of logs and reports are expensive to maintain. We purge the logs frequently, and keep the reports forever. Logs are only used internally, where recent reports are sometimes used externally, e.g., for fund-raising due diligence.
Though, the URLs of the web pages are logged, the contents of the web pages are not logged. In fact, the contents will never be logged, and this policy will be strictly enforced. However, be aware of the possibility of surveillance by intelligence agencies in your home country and our home country. So your activity is indeed logged and can be used for "the possibility of surveillance by intelligence agencies in your home country and our home country." Puffin Browser is not a VPN and does not replace your VPN service. If you have security concerns about the what Puffin Browser keeps in its log, don't use it. Furthermore, don't enter confidential information in the browser, such as CC numbers, and Social Security Numbers.
Data Saving
Puffin Browser also has the ability to compress the webpages it loads, saving your data. This function can be turn on and off. The compression system is only active on pages without videos and flash content. On average, I save about 70% of my data when using this browserInternet Speed
Due to the fact that you are using CloudMosa's internet bandwidth, you can download to google drive or other cloud services at super fast speeds. On average, I get a 1 ms ping, 560 Mbps Download, and 400 Mbps Upload. This is about 10x faster than my home download speed of 70 Mbps and 12 Mbps upload.
Flash
The flash function is quite glitchy and sometimes doesn't appear at all. On mobile, its fine since other browsers don't support flash so it is an extra. On PC, it is very important and since flash doesn't work well, it prevents this browser from becoming your main browser.Lag
This section was added because I needed to mention this problem. On PC, there is a 0.5 second latency. This means if you are typing on google docs, the words appear ~0.5 seconds after you type. This browser is, therefore, not suitable for work on PC. The problem is NOT present on mobile.Other

A very fast and speedy browser for those who want quick loading pages. If you have security concerns, or need flash, its best not to main this browser. Still download this for daily everyday uses though.
